Division of Head & Neck Surgery

At Fox Chase Cancer Center, our head and neck surgeons treat hundreds of patients each year using the latest surgical techniques available, including robotic procedures and other minimally-invasive approaches. Our surgeons specialize in treating the most difficult-to-treat cancers – including those with advanced disease, high risks, substantial comorbidity, or fast-evolving medical complications.

Patients who are initially told their tumor may be inoperable elsewhere may find that Fox Chase surgeons can offer a solution, given their depth of experience in complicated and advanced cases. The primary goal in all cases is to remove the cancer while preserving speech and swallowing. Preserving the function of the nearby nerves, organs and tissues is also a top priority.

Fox Chase’s head and neck surgeons are part of the greater Temple Head & Neck Institute, a comprehensive program dedicated to diagnosing and treating all types of disease of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck.

Speech Pathology

The Division of Head and Neck Surgery also includes the Department Speech Pathology. Speech Pathologists provide diagnostic procedures and treatment for  voice, speech and swallowing problems that can develop as a result of head and neck cancer, or other diseases of the head and neck.
