2020 – Present: Alexander Kutikov, MD, FACS

Chief, Division of Urology and Urologic Oncology
Professor, Department of Surgical Oncology

Dr. Kutikov is a urologic surgeon who specializes in treating patients with all types of genitourinary cancers. He is singularly accomplished as a surgeon, educator, researcher, and leader.

A recognized leader in helping to define best practices, Dr. Kutikov has published more than 240 peer-reviewed publications and more than a dozen textbook chapters, and has trained nearly 20 Society of Urologic Oncology fellows. His contributions both add to our understanding of urologic cancers and help to provide new options for patients through clinical trials—many of which are only available at Fox Chase.

Dr. Kutikov has held numerous leadership roles with the Society of Urologic Oncology, American Urological Association, and American College of Surgeons. He is an active participant in the peer-review process, having served as associate editor of digital media for European Urology, the urology field’s leading academic publication, as well as a member of the editorial board of Urologic Oncology.

His research interests include understanding carcinogenesis of genitourinary cancers, risk-stratification of surgical outcomes, quantification of competing risks, and organ-preserving techniques in kidney cancer surgery. In addition to engaging in clinical research, Dr. Kutikov currently serves as a co-investigator on a NCI grant to study the role of cholesterol homeostasis in enzalutamide resistance.
