If you have a medical emergency during weekday daytime hours, call the number your doctor or nurse has given you.
If you have a medical emergency on an evening or weekend, use Fox Chase Cancer Center's on-call system by calling 215-728-6900. Ask for the nursing supervisor.
Fox Chase Cancer Center does not have an Emergency Room (ER). If it is a true emergency, please call 911. If you have an urgent need in between your doctor visits or treatments, you may be directed to Fox Chase's Direct Referral Unit (DRU). The DRU is overseen by the Hospitalist service. This area provides urgent care for Fox Chase outpatients upon referral by their primary Fox Chase medical, surgical, or radiation oncologist.
If you have a need between your doctor visits to be seen by your physician, please follow the directons below:

Call the number your doctor or nurse has given you or one of the numbers above. He/she may send you to be seen in their clinic, the DRU at Fox Chase, your local ER or Jeanes Hospital, which is next door to Fox Chase. Please follow direction s of where staff tell you to go for your urgent care. This will allow us to make sure you receive the treatment you need.

Call 215-728-6900 to speak with the Fox Chase doctor on call. He/she may send you to your local ER or Jeanes Hospital, which is next door to Fox Chase. Be sure to tell the Jeanes staff that you are a Fox Chase patient so the Fox Chase physician on call can be notified. If hospital admission is necessary, you will be admitted to Fox Chase.
