Around Fox Chase

It is a convergence of astronomical proportions that happens once a quarter in the Fox Chase Cancer Center cafeteria. On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the second set of STAR – Special Talent Achieving Results – Award winners were announced and celebrated. This quarterly employee recognition event highlights excellence in achieving the organizational goals, leadership competencies, and core values of Fox Chase.

Rounds of applause and heartfelt remarks filled the room at Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital – Main Campus on February 20, 2025, as staff celebrated an infusion of support for patients being treated for lung cancer.

Spreading goodwill and garnering attention from devoted hockey fans, the famed Stanley Cup®— awarded annually to the National Hockey League champion—made a special visit on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, to Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Members of the Fox Chase Cancer Center community gathered on January 21, 2025 for the Paul J. Grotzinger, MD, Memorial Lecture.

Fox Chase Cancer Center’s mission of Discovery and Delivery extends well beyond its faculty and staff to include many throughout the community.

Members of the Keith Dawson Foundation visited the Fox Chase-Temple University Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at TUH-Jeanes Campus in late December to share goodies and spread good cheer to patients, caregivers, and staff.

Every holiday season, Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Tree of Life Celebration brings together patients, families, donors, researchers, and medical staff to pay tribute to all who have been touched by cancer. At this treasured annual event, the community remembers those who have passed, supports those who are living with cancer, and celebrates caregivers and survivors. The celebration features seasonal musical performances, inspirational personal stories, and culminates with the lighting of a beautiful tree in the Fox Chase courtyard.

Art remains a vital part of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s culture. From the symbolic sculpture, The Diamond, greeting visitors outside the main entrance to the shiny little noses of the groundhogs standing at the summit of the cafeteria, Fox Chase is awash in artwork. On nearly every wall and along every corridor is a mix of paintings, sculptures, and historic pieces, some dating back to the early days of the American Oncologic Hospital.
