PHILADELPHIA (October 6, 2021)—Hossein Borghaei, DO, MS, chief of the Division of Thoracic Medical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been named one of three winners of the second annual Lung Cancer Heroes awards program.

PHILADELPHIA (October 5, 2021)—In a recently published study, a researcher at Fox Chase Cancer Center outlined new methods for handling heterogeneous data types from large-scale studies. These studies generate genomic profiles with the goal of identifying subgroups of patients who may have a better prognosis or benefit from a particular treatment.

PHILADELPHIA (October 1, 2021)—The Bucks County Chapter of the Board of Associates of Fox Chase Cancer Center will host its 24th annual art show and sale in memory of George Bramhall.  Proceeds will benefit small cell lung cancer (SCLC) research at Fox Chase. This virtual art show and sale will take place from October 1 through November 30, 2021. Due to COVID-19 risks, this virtual event will temporarily replace the popular two-day in-person art show that has taken place annually.

PHILADELPHIA (September 22, 2021)—Salarius Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: SLRX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing potential new medicines for patients with sarcomas, pediatric cancers, and other hematologic and solid tumors, today announced a research partnership with the Cancer Epigenetics Institute at Fox Chase Cancer Center. The research, to be carried out by the laboratory of Johnathan Whetstine, PhD, the institute’s director, will help identify new indications and potential biomarkers for Salarius’ lead drug candidate, seclidemstat.

PHILADELPHIA (September 21, 2021)—Jeffrey M. Farma, MD, FACS, chief of the Division of General Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was appointed as the state chair of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) Cancer Liaison Program.

PHILADELPHIA (September 20, 2021)—Fox Chase Cancer Center will hold its 22nd annual Paws for the Cause dog walk to benefit cancer research as an in-person event this year, along with a two-week virtual event. Both events are hosted by the Fox Chase Board of Associates.
