To ensure the accuracy of our patient satisfaction scores, we require that providers who see patients receive a minimum number of completed patient-submitted surveys before their reviews are listed on their profiles. Star ratings on this site are collected on a rolling basis from the previous 12 months.
Additionally, some of the physicians listed on our site do not see patients directly, and therefore, do not receive evaluation and ratings from patients.

Treatment Philosophy

As a former graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, I am excited to come back to the Philadelphia area.  I believe that a cancer institute should have a strong presence in clinical research.  I came to Fox Chase Cancer Center as I am excited about the resources and clinical trial access patient's have at their fingertips.  My approach is to work as a team with my multidisciplinary colleagues.  I strive to listen to each patient as each patient is unique with a unique diagnosis.  It is my responsibility to better understand patient's wishes and concerns guiding them to make informed treatment decisions that's best for their care.  I am committed to not only providing standard treatment options, but also providing experimental therapies that clinical trial research allows in the advancement of medicine.  There are many options available to patients and it's my job to assist with these decisions.  Truly, this is an exciting time to be a physician in hematology/medical oncology.

In addition to my clinical duties, I am dedicated to the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.  I am extremely grateful of the opportunity to give back to the medical community.

  • Breast Cancer

In early February, 2022, I noticed a small lump in my breast. In the past I had breast cysts, and I assumed that was what this new lump would be. Based on my 25-plus years of work in medical, and specifically, cancer research, I made sure I went for my regular mammogram every year.

I talk to other cancer survivors, and I think a lot of people feel like they’re alone when they’re going through this. I tell them, “You’re not alone, there are a lot of us in this battle together.” I should know—I’ve been through it six times.

I thank God for my wife, Anna. We’ve been married 31 years, and she’s my rock. She’s also a respiratory therapist, so she knows a lot more about this medical stuff than I do. A lot of the decisions I’ve made might not have made had it not been for her.
