Fox Chase Researcher Receives Grant to Study Implementation of Nutrition Plans for Lung Cancer Patients

PHILADELPHIA (April 17, 2020) — A  $2.3 million grant for a multicenter randomized clinical trial to study the use of medically tailored meals and individually-tailored nutrition counseling as part of care for lung cancer patients will enroll 150 newly diagnosed stage I-IV lung cancer patients from vulnerable populations, including those who are uninsured, economically disadvantaged, older adults, rural residents or racial/ethnic minorities.

Fox Chase Researchers Plan Study for Addressing Sexual Concerns in Breast Cancer Patients

PHILADELPHIA (April 6, 2020)—A recently published protocol paper by researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center describes a new trial evaluating a couple-based intervention program designed to improve sexual relationships for breast cancer survivors. The goal of the study is to see whether a four-session couple-based intervention program done over the phone can help improve sexual function for breast cancer survivors.

Study Suggests Disrupting DNA Repair Signaling Could Block Cancer Growth

PHILADELPHIA (March 25, 2020)—A study by researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center published today found that the RNF168 signaling pathway is critical for preventing the growth of BRCA1 mutant cancers, and that new drugs, designed to restore this pathway, could be effective for treating cancers with BRCA1 gene mutations.
