PHILADELPHIA (August 27, 2020) – Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have published a study about preventing cigarette smoking relapse in urban, underserved women after they have given birth. Although much research has been conducted on smoking cessation in general, programs are not designed to help underserved mothers quit the habit long term.

PHILADELPHIA (August 18, 2020) – Fox Chase Cancer Center announces the hiring of Jean M. Arlt, PhD, who will join the Department of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Division of Psychiatry.

PHILADELPHIA (August 17, 2020) – Fox Chase Cancer Center announces the hiring of Christopher M.K.L. Yao, MD, FRCSC, who will join the Department of Surgical Oncology as an assistant professor in the academic clinician track in the Division of Head and Neck Surgery.

PHILADELPHIA (August 13, 2020) – Fox Chase Cancer Center announces the hiring of Jason Alfred Castellanos, MD, MS, who will join the Department of Surgical Oncology as an assistant professor in the academic clinician track in the Division of General Surgery. He will focus on malignancies of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas.

PHILADELPHIA (August 12, 2020) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Maureen V. Hill, MD, who will stay on and join the Department of Surgical Oncology as a clinical instructor. Hill will be joining the Fox Chase team upon completion of her Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship here, where she served as administrative chief fellow.

PHILADELPHIA (August 10, 2020)—Fox Chase Cancer Center has formed a partnership with plastic injection molding company The Rodon Group to develop nasal and oral collection swabs to test for COVID-19. These new swabs have shown improved sensitivity compared to currently marketed swabs. This partnership will provide Temple University Health System with necessary COVID-19 swabs for the next five years.
