Why is this doctor not rated?

To ensure the accuracy of our patient satisfaction scores, we require that providers who see patients receive a minimum number of completed patient-submitted surveys before their reviews are listed on their profiles. Star ratings on this site are collected on a rolling basis from the previous 12 months.
Additionally, some of the physicians listed on our site do not see patients directly, and therefore, do not receive evaluation and ratings from patients.

Treatment Philosophy

Oncology nursing is my passion. I have had the privilege of working at FCCC for my entire nursing career. I initially worked as a staff nurse on both medical and surgical oncology floors.  However, the majority of my career here has been in case management.  This role involved helping patients transition to the next level of care after discharge, by arranging all home care services. I also helped patients navigate the complex and challenging arena of healthcare regulations. To demonstrate my commitment to oncology nursing, I maintain certification in both oncology nursing and nursing case management.

I have been involved with patient support groups here, and was named 2006 Volunteer of the Year by the Patient Services Department of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Working with patients with blood disorders such as lymphoma, leukemia, and multiple myeloma fueled my desire to organize a monthly support group that would address patients’ psychosocial and educational needs. I partnered with an FCCC Social Worker to provide these individuals with the resources they needed to understand and manage their illnesses.

Moving into my position as a Nurse Navigator has been a natural transition in my career.  I view my responsibilities as a front-end version of case management.  It is a privilege to be able to continue meaningful patient and family contact.  A recent patient’s daughter, who works at a major medical center, described the nurse navigator role as “brilliant.”  She went on to say that the nurse navigator “makes such a difference for the family in dealing with the many moving parts” of health care.  And that sums up why I continue to love what I do here at FCCC.
