Beyond Fox Chase, he plays an active role in the professional community through his memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Radiology, and ASTRO, underscoring his leadership in shaping the field of radiation oncology at both the clinical and policy levels.
“It is an incredible honor to receive this recognition and stand alongside so many talented ASTRO members. Being part of this organization has been an amazing learning experience, and I am excited to continue this journey as a fellow,” said Meyer.
Shaping the Future of Radiation Oncology
Awards like ASTRO Fellowship recognize doctors who go above and beyond in patient care, research, and education. For patients, this means access to the latest treatments and clinical trials led by experts who are shaping the future of cancer care. For the medical community, fellows like Meyer mentor new doctors, help set treatment guidelines, and drive research that can improve outcomes for cancer patients everywhere.
This honor shows that a physician is not just exceptional in the clinic, but also a leader making a real difference in improving care and outcomes for people with cancer.
A Department of Excellence
“This is fantastic news and is well deserved. I am very excited for and proud of Josh. He is the sixth person in our department to be made an ASTRO Fellow. Considering that fewer than 500 physicians worldwide have been made ASTRO Fellows since 2006, Fox Chase has a high percentage based on our size,” said Eric M. Horwitz, MD, FABS, FASTRO, Professor and Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
