Treatment Philosophy
As an oncologist, I am trusted with the most intimate aspects of my patients’ lives. I get to witness their fears, frustration, disappointments but also their joy, resilience, and strength. It is an incredible privilege and responsibility. This is why my treatment philosophy is focused on creating a strong bond with patients and caregivers based on trust, transparency, and empathy. I try to educate, support, and encourage my patients to be active participants in all aspects of their care throughout the continuum.
My experience treating patients from different parts of the world has also made cognizant of the impact of cultural values on decision-making and end of life care. Throughout my interactions with patients and caregivers, I try to learn more about their cultural beliefs and use this knowledge to come up with the best way to communicate information and to engage them in shared decision-making.
