Fox Chase Announces the Promotion of Namrata (Neena) Vijayvergia, MD, to Medical Director, Medical Oncology, Fox Chase Cancer Center Partners

    Dr. Vijayvergia joins Partners surgical oncology medical director John M. Daly, MD, and Partners radiation oncology medical director Mark L. Sobczak, MD, in a key leadership role that focuses on the continued enhancement of the Partners Program.

    "We're pleased to welcome Dr. Vijayvergia to the Partners Program," Dr. Sobczak said. "She brings a high level of medical and research expertise and has a proven background in working effectively with community hospital providers and their patients." 

    Dr. Daly added, "Dr. Vijayvergia, Dr. Sobczak and I are fully committed to collaborating with our Partner hospitals to be leaders for cancer care in their own communities." 

    Dr. Vijayvergia has been a faculty member of Fox Chase since 2015. She serves as assistant professor in the department of hematology/oncology as well as assistant chief, gastrointestinal medical oncology. Previously, she was consult physician to Jeanes Hospital, where she provided hematology/

    oncology consultation services and acted as the Fox Chase point of contact for Jeanes inpatients. She worked directly with physicians and oncologists to help transition their patients to Fox Chase for outpatient cancer care.

    Dr. Vijayvergia completed her fellowship in hematology/oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, where she served as chief fellow. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital, where she served as chief resident. 

    "I'm very much looking forward to meeting our Partners over the next several weeks," Dr. Vijayvergia said. "I truly believe in the Partners Program and am excited to take on the responsibilities of my new role."
