Literature Searches
The Talbot Library has highly trained librarians who employ expert information retrieval methods using a variety of online databases. Our databases index literature in many subject areas including biomedicine, nursing and allied health, chemistry, and psychology. Each search is customized to meet your needs. Instruction
The Talbot Research Library offers one-on-one sessions to those who wish to learn the basics or even the finer points of database searching. We can help you choose the best databases, formulate and develop search strategies, find the evidence, and more. Groups of more than four people are asked to find and reserve space for a training session. Alerts
What if you could have the latest literature delivered to your email Inbox every week? The library can create alerts for you in PubMed, Web of Science, and other databases that will deliver newly published literature without having to repeat searches. We can also help you create RSS feeds and connect you with Table of Contents feeds of numerous journals. Publishing Assistance
Librarians are able to assist you with several aspects of the publication process. We can assist in a number of areas including identifying a list of journal titles for submission, help you deposit your final, approved manuscript into the NIH Manuscript Submission (NIHMS) system, EndNote output styles, copyright, NIH Public Access compliance, and citation tracking.
