Pooja Ghatalia, MD, an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been granted funding from the Department of Defense (DoD) office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) to study a new approach to treatment for patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma.

A study presented by researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center finds that the type of therapy a patient receives before surgery for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma has more of an impact on postoperative outcomes and survival than the duration of treatment.

Now, a new study presented by Fox Chase Cancer Center clinicians at the American Urological Association’s (AUA) Annual Meeting supports the use of partially absorbable synthetic, non-biologic parastomal mesh to significantly reduce this risk in real-world practice.
