U.S. News & World Report has ranked Fox Chase Cancer Center among the nation’s top hospitals for cancer care according to the publication’s 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings.
In addition to an overall national ranking of No. 32 for cancer care and treatment, U.S. News ranked Fox Chase at No. 11 nationally for urology, and recognized five key areas as "High Performing," represents the highest possible recognition for these frequently treated procedures and conditions:
- Colon cancer surgery
- Gynecological cancer surgery
- Leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
- Lung cancer surgery
- Prostate cancer surgery

Each year, U.S. News evaluates the performance of more than 4,000 hospitals across the country in areas that can be objectively measured, like preventable complications, level of nursing care, and more. The publication’s rankings for specialties, as well as those for procedures and conditions, rely on patient outcomes using data from more than 750 million publicly available records of patient care.

Part of Temple Health, Fox Chase Cancer Center is one of the leading cancer research and treatment centers in the United States. Founded in 1904 as one of the nation’s first cancer hospitals, Fox Chase was among the first institutions to earn designation as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center.
In addition to its comprehensive cancer care services, innovative clinical trials, and groundbreaking research, Fox Chase is home to numerous specialized programs including the Young Adult Cancer Program, a first of its kind in the Philadelphia region, dedicated to addressing the needs and unique challenges of patients between the ages of 18–39, and the Blood Cancer and Cellular Therapies Institute, which recently performed its 3,000th bone marrow transplant and is advancing the state-of-the-art in the treatment of blood cancers.
Fox Chase’s depth of experience is also reflected in its oncologic surgical volume, which ranks among the highest in Pennsylvania according to the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council's (PHC4) 2026 report — No. 1 in bladder and kidney cancer surgeries, and No. 3 in volume of prostate, liver, and stomach cancer surgeries.
Last year, Fox Chase Cancer Center administered nearly 51,000 chemotherapy infusion and related procedures and more than 42,000 radiation therapy treatments, and conducted roughly 7,800 surgical procedures — caring for 18,400 new patients across nearly 164,000 outpatient visits.
