PHILADELPHIA (April 27, 2023)—Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple Health are pleased to announce the new Fox Chase-Temple Urologic Institute, a groundbreaking initiative that will concentrate on both benign and oncologic urology. With over 20 urologists on faculty, the Institute will provide services at multiple locations throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

PHILADELPHIA (April 26, 2023)—Three faculty members from Temple University and Fox Chase Cancer Center were recognized today as newly elected Fellows of the Society of Behavioral Medicine (FSBM), a multidisciplinary organization of behavioral and biomedical researchers and clinicians. PHILADELPHIA (April 25, 2023)—Valerie Heron, RN, BSN, OCN, a nurse at Fox Chase Cancer Center – East Norriton, was recently named a Nursing Legend by Main Line Today in its May 2023 issue.

PHILADELPHIA (April 25, 2023)—Christian Hurtz, PhD, an assistant professor at the Fels Cancer Institute for Personalized Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, has been awarded a four-year $800,000 A-Award by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. The award supports early career scientists pursuing better treatments for childhood cancer; only three such awards were granted by the organization in 2023.

PHILADELPHIA (April 24, 2023)—Eighty-six Fox Chase Cancer Center physicians have been named to Philadelphia magazine’s “Top Doctors” list for 2023. Physicians on the list were nominated by a national survey of their professional peers.

PHILADELPHIA (April 20, 2023)—Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Maryam Ijaz Khan, MD, as an associate professor in the Division of Endocrinology.

PHILADELPHIA (April 18, 2023)—Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Camille Ragin, PhD, MPH, Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, was appointed chair of the Minorities in Cancer Research (MICR) Council for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) at the AACR Annual Meeting 2023, which is being held April 14-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

PHILADELPHIA (April 17, 2023)—Edna “Eti” Cukierman, PhD, Co-Director of the Marvin and Concetta Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been appointed chair-elect of the American Association for Cancer Research’s (AACR) Tumor Microenvironment (TME) Working Group at the AACR Annual Meeting 2023, which is being held April 14-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
