PHILADELPHIA (August 15, 2022)—Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Scott, MD, who will be joining the Supportive Oncology and Palliative Care Program in the Department of Hematology/Oncology as an assistant professor.

Scott earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology from West Chester University and attended the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He graduated with his medical degree in 2014 and went on to complete his residency in family medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining the Fox Chase faculty, Scott worked at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center in Delaware as a clinical lead physician and as a clinical instructor at Bellevue Hospital in New York.

Scott has published multiple peer-reviewed articles over the course of his career and currently belongs to multiple professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

Scott has an extensive history of participation in quality improvement programs, including at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Palliative Medicine, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Geriatrics, and the Michael J. Crescenz VAMC Department of Palliative Medicine.

Scott will begin his tenure at Fox Chase on September 11.
