“Worry is trying to predict a future that no one knows," said Dr. Finestone. "The way you let go of worry is to coach yourself: deliberately let that worry go and do something else that calms you.”

PHILADELPHIA (February 15, 2017) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Paula H. Finestone, PhD, a psychologist who has joined the Center’s department of medicine.

“We are eager to welcome Dr. Finestone to the department,” said David S. Weinberg, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine at Fox Chase. “Her broad experience caring for patients and working with caregivers and families as part of a multidisciplinary medical team will benefit our patients immensely.”

Before arriving at Fox Chase, Finestone was a clinical psychologist at Bryn Mawr Rehab, where she worked with inpatients and outpatients facing cancer, brain injuries, and other serious diagnoses. She was also instrumental in educating and supporting family members and other caregivers.

Finestone received her PhD and MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Delaware, where she also formerly taught undergraduate psychology courses.

“I look forward to working with my new patients throughout their cancer journeys, and joining a highly regarded institution,” Finestone said.

Finestone will start at Fox Chase on February 15, 2017.
