About
Heather Bernstein, DO, is an Assistant Professor in the Supportive Oncology and Palliative Care Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
She cares for patients at Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital — Main Campus and brings a strong background in internal medicine, hospital medicine, and supportive oncology care. Her clinical interests include symptom management, serious illness communication, advance care planning, and improving quality of life for patients with cancer and their families.
Dr. Bernstein completed her fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Hospital. Prior to fellowship, she served as a hospitalist within the ChristianaCare Health System, caring for hospitalized patients and coordinating multidisciplinary treatment plans. During her residency at Inspira Health Network in Vineland, New Jersey, she served as Chief Resident of Education, helping lead educational initiatives and curriculum development for residents and trainees.
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Inspira Health Network. Dr. Bernstein is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
