Treatment Philosophy
The word “cancer” evokes a strong emotional response, especially for anyone with a personal connection to the disease. With this in mind, I believe that the best providers care for every aspect of the person, not just the disease. This complete approach fosters trust and helps create meaningful relationships between patients and providers. I joined the Department of Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular therapy because I believe in this program’s commitment to comprehensive oncologic care. As a member of this group, I can support my patients throughout their cancer journey, which I believe is invaluable in the patient-physician relationship.
My goal is to establish trust with my patients and their families. I value providing patients with all the necessary information to put them in a position to help them make decisions about their care. Because of this perspective, I ensure that I am always honest with my patients. This does not diminish my from ability to provide hope for my patients; optimism is an important part of their treatment course. At the end of the day, I recognize that I am only one member of the patient’s care team, which includes their entire support system. Regardless of the scenario, I will always be an advocate for my patients and their families.
