Endometrial (Uterine) Cancer

In 2013, Karen Leone was shocked to learn she had endometrial cancer after a routine gynecological exam. She sought treatment at Fox Chase Cancer Center, where she underwent a hysterectomy followed by chemotherapy and localized radiation. Today Karen's cancer is in remission. "The staff and patients at Fox Chase offered me encouragement and kept me positive and moving forward...I feel blessed and lucky as I continue to enjoy the time I spend with my friends and family, especially my three wonderful grandchildren," she said.

I was diagnosed with stage 3-C endometrial cancer in 2007. I had had a normal Pap smear in January that year, but when I started experiencing some spotting, I went back to my doctor in November. After I had a vaginal ultrasound, my doctor ordered further testing, including a biopsy of the lining of my uterus. The biopsy came back positive for cancer.
