Endometrial Cancer Diagnosis
There are no specific screening tests for Endometrial Cancer.
A Pap smear screens women for cervical cancer, but can occasionally find early endometrial cancer.
Fox Chase has the technology to confirm a diagnosis of gynecologic cancer after initial testing by a patient’s family physician or gynecologist. If endometrial cancer is suspected, then our team will develop a treatment plan that is customized for each patient and may perform some of the following diagnostic tests in addition to a physical/pelvic exam:
- Computed Tomography (CT) scan
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan
In addition, a biopsy of the endometrial tissue may be performed, and our pathologists will examine the sample under a microscope.
