Accurate diagnosis is essential to choosing the best treatment for your type and stage of cervical cancer. Fox Chase has the technology and full range of experience to address cervical conditions from pre-invasive/precancerous cervical lesions to metastatic disease.                                             

If cervical cancer is suspected, initial diagnostic tests may include:

  • Physical examination
  • Medical history
  • Cervical biopsy
  • Colposcopy

Imaging tests to determine whether cancer has spread or treatment has been effective include:

  • Chest X-ray
  • Computed Tomography (CT) scan
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan
  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan
