Brenton Halsey, MD

About

Brenton Halsey, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. He brings extensive training in internal medicine, hematology and oncology, and medical education, with a strong commitment to advancing equitable cancer care delivery, improving clinical outcomes, and strengthening residency and fellowship training. At Fox Chase, Dr. Halsey will focus on the care of patients with solid tumor malignancies, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer.

Dr. Halsey completed fellowship training in hematology and oncology at Fox Chase and Temple University Hospital. He previously completed his internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and led efforts in residency education, recruitment, and curriculum development.

He earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, where he also completed a Master of Arts in Urban Bioethics. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and completed postbaccalaureate training at Columbia University. Dr. Halsey’s academic and clinical interests include disparities in cancer outcomes, health equity in oncology care, breast cancer, patient-centered communication, and medical education, with research focused on triple-negative breast cancer disparities and improving patient experience during cancer treatment.
