At the intersection of social and health psychology, my research has focused on psychological and behavioral protective factors of well-being in both general and at-risk populations. Much of my collaborative work at Stony Brook Medicine and the Stony Brook Cancer Center focused on medical decision making and understanding disparities in cancer prevention and care. This included projects on disparities in health literacy and barriers to care in both prostate cancer and colorectal cancer, as well as HPV vaccination uptake in college students to reduce cervical cancer risk. As a postdoctoral fellow in the LINC lab, I will be continuing my work in medical decision making across the cancer continuum and contribute to projects aimed at increasing clinical trial participation at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
