Lab Contributions
My work in the lab supports the development and execution of NCI-funded research projects aimed at improving care delivery and reducing inequities in clinical communication. I help initiate new projects by ensuring that research aims are measurable, aligned with success metrics, and informed by validated instruments and frameworks in the field. I work closely with the project manager to co-develop strategies for data collection and analysis that are both methodologically rigorous and operationally feasible.
Additionally, I oversee the creation and management of study databases, conducting routine data checks, implementing validation protocols, and analyzing missing data to ensure data quality. I lead quantitative data analysis and contribute to the development of analysis plans tailored to each study’s goals, documenting all processes and helping establish standardized data management procedures. I translate research findings into insights that inform the development of patient-facing materials and provider tools, supporting efforts to improve patient understanding of treatment options and enhance physicians’ ability to communicate these options clearly. I also contribute to the creation of lab posters and presentations to disseminate our findings to broader academic and clinical audiences.
