PHILADELPHIA (October 17, 2023) — As the first initiative of an emerging collaboration, Fox Chase Cancer Center has invested in Nucleus RadioPharma, a company specializing in the development and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals, targeted therapies that deliver radiation directly to cancer cells. The company’s technology platform is considered to be at the forefront of radiopharmaceutical research and designed to advance new therapies from clinical trials to commercialization. Fox Chase and Nucleus also have signed a Letter of Intent to potentially enable to a deeper collaboration, including partnership in developing a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing site and clinical trials involving radiopharmaceuticals.

PHILADELPHIA (October 16, 2023) — Joseph Friedberg, MD, FACS, Thoracic Surgeon-In-Chief for Temple Health, Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery, Professor in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Melissa Culligan, RN, BSN, MSc, PhD candidate, Director of Thoracic Surgery Research in the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, were recently appointed to new positions in the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMig).

PHILADELPHIA (October 13, 2023) — Temple Health was recently recognized with the American College of Gastroenterology’s (ACG) Service Award for Colorectal Cancer Outreach, Prevention & Year-Round Excellence (SCOPY) for its coordinated health campaign against colon cancer.

This was the sentiment amid gray skies and wet, rainy conditions at the 24th Annual Paws for the Cause Dog Walk, held September 10, 2023 at Fox Chase Cancer Center. The event raised more than $115,000 for cancer research and postdoctoral support at Fox Chase.

PHILADELPHIA (October 2, 2023) — In a recent study, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center demonstrated how amplification and rearrangement of a gene associated with leukemia known as MLL is directly controlled by epigenetic factors, providing needed insights into a new therapeutic opportunity.

PHILADELPHIA (October 2, 2023) — Researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University will serve as two of the principal investigators on the Asian American Community Cohort and Equity Study, which is part of a new seven-year epidemiological cohort study of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AsA-NHPI).
