PHILADELPHIA (December 19, 2016) – Fox Chase Cancer Center has received a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in its latest Hospital Care report.

PHILADELPHIA (December 12, 2016) – The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality  program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to Fox Chase Cancer Center. Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation is only awarded to a facility that exceeds standard requirements at the time of its triennial survey.

PHILADELPHIA (November 30, 2016) – Working with a team of researchers who were screening and treating newborns for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Center have uncovered previously unknown information about how some cancers are formed. 

PHILADELPHIA (November 28, 2016) – In a single study based on a review of a database assembled over the last 15 years, Fox Chase Cancer Center researchers recently showed that renal mass biopsy enabled accurate diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma.

PHILADELPHIA (November 21, 2016) – Researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Center found that cervical cancer screening rates in the traditionally under-served and under-screened community of Korean-American women increased in response to a multi-component health intervention.

PHILADELPHIA (November 11, 2016) — David S. Weinberg, MD, chairman of the Department of Medicine at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been elected to the Interurban Clinical Club.

In a unanimous vote by the council and general membership, Weinberg was voted in as an active member in a meeting on November 4 in Philadelphia. He will be welcomed at the group’s next meeting in April 2017 in Baltimore.

PHILADELPHIA (November 10, 2016) – As part of its ongoing commitment to patient safety, Fox Chase Cancer Center is standing with a national campaign to end a dangerous chemotherapy error. Just Bag It: The NCCN Campaign for Safe Vincristine Handling, launched today by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®), encourages health care providers to adopt a policy to always dilute and administer the medication vincristine in a mini IV-drip bag to prevent the improper administration of the drug.
