PHILADELPHIA (October 3, 2016) – Yanis Boumber, MD, PhD, will join the Department of Thoracic Medical Oncology and the Molecular Therapeutics Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center starting Oct. 3.

PHILADELPHIA (September 1, 2016) — Michael Jan Bartel, MD, has joined the Department of Medicine as a gastroenterologist at Fox Chase Cancer Center.

PHILADELPHIA (September 28, 2016) – Radiation treatment can be delivered to patients with prostate cancer at a higher dose and in a shorter amount of time with limited adverse effects, according to recent data from Fox Chase Cancer Center researchers presented at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) 2016 Annual Meeting.

PHILADELPHIA (September 26, 2016) – Fox Chase Cancer Center doctors will provide free rapid skin cancer screening in the Mobile Screening Unit at the 2016 Miles for Melanoma Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. The screenings will be available from 7 am until 9 am.

PHILADELPHIA (September 26, 2016) – Thomas M. Churilla, MD, a resident physician at Fox Chase Cancer Center, presented the results of a secondary analysis of a prospective randomized trial at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) 2016 Annual Meeting.

PHILADELPHIA (September 12, 2016) – Studying neighborhood environments and examining geospatial approaches is an area of rising interest in cancer research. Fox Chase Cancer Center researchers will contribute at the first Conference on Geospatial Approaches to Cancer Control and Population Sciences.

PHILADELPHIA (September 1, 2016) – September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month—a time for men to take charge of their health by learning the risk factors for prostate cancer. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men. While prostate cancer can be a serious disease, most men diagnosed with it do not die from it. Today, there are over 2.9 million men living in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point.
