Colleen Hogan Tetzlaff, MHS, PA-C, a physician assistant (PA) in the Division of Genitourinary Medical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of PAs in Oncology (APAO).
The award, presented at APAO’s Annual Oncology Symposium in New York, honors an outstanding physician assistant whose career reflects a long-standing commitment to oncology and consistent excellence in patient care, leadership, and professional service.
Tetzlaff has devoted more than 20 years to the field of oncology. She started her career at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology, where she established and led the Thoracic Oncology Education Series. Since joining Fox Chase in 2009, she has worked in Genitourinary Medical Oncology while also serving as a clinical preceptor and mentoring future oncology physician assistants.
Her influence has extended well beyond Fox Chase. Tetzlaff has devoted more than a decade to leadership within APAO, serving two terms as president as well as president-elect, secretary and immediate past-president. She also has chaired the organization’s Education, Advocacy, Website and Lifetime Achievement Award committees.
Tetzlaff is also a nationally recognized voice in genitourinary and bladder cancer care. She has presented at meetings of the American Urological Association, National Comprehensive Cancer Network and APAO and has remained active with the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network’s Walk to End Bladder Cancer.
In presenting the award, APAO President Cory Edgar, DMSc, PA-C, highlighted Tetzlaff’s clinical excellence, mentorship and decades of leadership, noting that much of what the organization is today “bears her fingerprints.”
