Fox Chase Supports Annual “Get Your Rear in Gear” Run/Walk to Fight Colon Cancer

Get Your Rear in GearPHILADELPHIA (March 13, 2018) — Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce its continuing support for the Colon Cancer Coalition’s Annual Get Your Rear in Gear run/walk. Faculty, staff, volunteers, patients, survivors, and their families will come together as members of the Fox Chase team on Saturday, March 24.

The family-friendly fundraiser will take place at the Please Touch Museum in Memorial Hall, and includes a 4-mile run, 2-mile walk, and a kids’ fun run. The annual event raises funds to support local efforts against colon cancer, including prevention, early detection, and treatment for the disease.

Registration opens at 7:00 A.M., and activities will begin by 8:30 A.M. Surgical oncologist and native Philadelphian Jeffrey Farma, MD, FACS, leads the Fox Chase team and are so excited to spearhead the Center’s continued involvement in this great cause.

“I’m excited to be leading the Fox Chase team for Get Your Rear in Gear again this year; I always enjoy the day and the way it brings our staff, patients, family and friends together to support an important cause and raise much needed funds that help fight this disease,” said Farma.

Entry fees are $30 for adults and $15 for children before March 18, and $35 for adults and $20 for children on race day. All Fox Chase team members will receive a free team T-shirt. Online registration ends Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 5PM.
