Free Cancer Screening Event for Veterans

PHILADELPHIA (November 21, 2017) — A free head and neck cancer screening will be provided to all military veterans courtesy of Fox Chase Cancer Center.

“Many head and neck cancers present at an advanced stage,” said Christopher Fundakowski, MD, assistant professor of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in the Temple Head and Neck Institute and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and assistant professor of surgical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. “Screening of high risk individuals is an excellent way to identify and treat suspicious lesions as early as possible.”

The screening will be held at American Legion Post #366, 7976 Oxford Ave, on Wednesday November 29, 2017. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and Fundakowski and staff will provide the screenings.
