Yanis Boumber Joins Fox Chase’s Department of Medical Oncology

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 25, 2013)—Yanis Boumber, MD, PhD, has joined the department of medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center after completing fellowship training at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Boumber specializes in treating patients with thoracic cancers, including lung cancer, thymoma, and mesothelioma.

Dr. Boumber received his medical degree from Rostov State Medical University as well as a doctoral degree in cancer biology and molecular biology from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He completed an internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, as well as both clinical and research fellowships at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Boumber is a 2012 recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award, and is fluent in Russian as well as English.
