Vasily Studitsky, PhD, Joins Fox Chase Cancer Center as a Professor in the Cancer Epigenetics Program

PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 9, 2013)—Vasily Studitsky, PhD, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center as a Professor in the Cancer Epigenetics Program. He comes to Fox Chase from Wayne State University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he was a full Professor. Dr. Studitsky’s research looks at molecular mechanisms and regulation of eukaryotic transcription, and the factors involved in cancer development and human aging.

Dr. Studitsky received his PhD from the W. Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology in Moscow, Russia. He did his postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, where he conducted research on transcription through chromatin by model bacteriophage SP6 RNA polymerase and yeast RNA polymerase III.

Fox Chase Cancer Center (Fox Chase), which includes the Institute for Cancer Research and the American Oncologic Hospital and is a part of Temple Health, is one of the leading comprehensive cancer centers in the United States.
