Daniel M. Geynisman, MD, Joins Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Department of Medical Oncology

PHILADELPHIA, PA (July 25, 2013)—Daniel M. Geynisman, MD, has joined Fox Chase’s department of medical oncology after completing a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow in his final year. While there, he completed an additional fellowship at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. He specializes in treating patients with genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular, penile, and adrenal cancers.

Dr. Geynisman earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, serving an additional year as chief resident. Before enrolling in medical school, he worked as a mental health counselor at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville, Ill., having received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Northwestern University.

Dr. Geynisman’s research focuses on health outcomes, such as adherence to oral anticancer drugs; medical ethics; and clinical trials development for genitourinary cancers. He is fluent in Russian as well as English.
