Radiologist Rohit Walia, MD, Joins Fox Chase's Department of Diagnostic Imaging

PHILADELPHIA (August 10, 2010) – Rohit Walia, MD - Staff Radiologist, Radiology, has joined Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Department of Diagnostic Imaging as a staff radiologist.  His clinical expertise is in body imaging, nuclear medicine, and neuroradiology.

“I believe I can integrate my knowledge of radiology with clinical information and, in conjunction with the fine clinicians at Fox Chase, provide a practical and holistic approach towards the best outcome for our patients,” Walia says.

After earning his M.B.B.S. from Sethe GS Medical College in Bombay, India, Walia completed several residencies and fellowships.  His residencies include diagnostic radiology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in Chennai; nuclear medicine at Rush Presbyterian Hospital; and internal medicine at Cook County Hospital, both in Chicago.  Additionally, Walia completed a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Allegheny General Hospital.  He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.

“I came to realize that cancer imaging integrates all specialties and modalities in a way that would best utilize what I had learned in years of training,” says Walia.
