Treatment Philosophy

I was attracted to the field of nursing when I was in high school after spending a week in the hospital.  During that time the nurses that took care of me were incredibly kind and compassionate.  They were able to make a scary and uncomfortable situation, much more bearable.  After that experience I decided that I wanted to become a nurse to support and care for people just as the nurses that had cared for me.  I went on to attend the University of Scranton where I graduated with my BSN.  After nursing school I spent six years caring for patients in the acute care setting in Philadelphia.  During this time I was able to learn about patient care and the importance of patient advocacy, education and support.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to come to Fox Chase as a Nurse Navigator on the Breast Team.  While at Fox Chase I am surrounded by a wonderful team that provides me with the opportunity to learn and grow everyday.   I have been able to take what I have learned as a bedside nurse and evolve that into my practice as a nurse navigator.   I have the opportunity to support patients during their time of need by providing education and guidance to patients and their family members.   My position as a nurse navigator has provided me with the chance to encounter amazing people that help me to grow as a nurse and as a person for which I am very grateful.
