What You Need to Know: Careers in Science and Medicine Education Series

Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Office of Academic Affairs will host a series of free weekly one-hour long webinars aimed at educating the community about careers in science and healthcare.  Each week two specialists from across the Center will share their stories and answer questions about their training and career path. Careers in health care, science, business development, community engagement, fundraising, marketing and much, much more will be covered.  If you’ve ever wondered about the professionals who make up the Fox Chase team, what motivates them, and how to break into a particular career, you are urged to check out this seminar series! 

There will be opportunities to submit your questions prior to the webinars and to participate in a live Q&A.

Barbara Ebersole, BFA, MA, CCC-SLP, Director, Speech Pathology 
Topic: A Creative Approach to a Career in Medical Speech Pathology
Barbara (Barb) Ebersole, B.F.A., M.A., CCC-SLP is a certified speech pathologist, department leader, and clinical researcher in the Department of Surgical Oncology who specializes in rehabilitation of cancer patients following therapy. Through her efforts, Barb aims to improve the quality of life for patients as they live through and beyond their cancer treatment.  Barb will share her journey from a career in the “the Arts” to a career in “the Sciences” and describe what keeps her motivated and engaged in her work and her perspectives on job satisfaction.
