PHILADELPHIA (April 3, 2023)—Physicians from Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Temple Head & Neck Institute will offer free screenings for head and neck cancer on Thursday, April 6 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The screenings are open to everyone, take less than 10 minutes, and no appointment is needed. They will take place at Temple University Hospital-Main Campus in Classroom C in the Rock Pavilion Basement.

A nursing mentor and her former protégé—both from Germany—reunited in the United States in mid-March 2023 to discuss the future of the nursing profession and to explore potential collaborations that will help move the profession forward.

PHILADELPHIA (March 30, 2023)— Ten physicians at Fox Chase Cancer Center were honored by the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) today as it celebrated its state-wide recognition of physicians for Doctors’ Day 2023

Eleven Fox Chase Cancer Center physicians have been named to the 2023 Exceptional Women in Medicine list by Castle Connolly. This list recognizes female Castle Connolly Top Doctors across the United States who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, expertise and dedication in their respective fields. There are over 8,400 doctors represented, across 77 specialties and all 50 states. 

PHILADELPHIA (March 22, 2023)—An ongoing challenge of cancer treatment is finding a way to use powerful chemotherapies to attack tumor cells while minimizing toxic side effects. A recent study by researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University has demonstrated a potential new way to avoid this problem by using nanoengineered stem cells as a drug delivery system.

PHILADELPHIA (March 15, 2023)—Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple Health are pleased to announce the hiring of Claire L. Streibert, MD, as site chief of breast imaging.

Temple Health, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University welcomed Senators Art Haywood, Jimmy Dillon, Sharif Street, and Christine Tartaglione to a press conference and roundtable discussion this February at Fox Chase to thank them for their efforts in securing $1.1 million for four Mobile Health Units.

PHILADELPHIA (March 10, 2023)—Dong “Jake” Kim, MD, a second-year hematology/oncology fellow at Fox Chase Cancer Center, recently received a 2023 Conquer Cancer Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for research that he presented at a recent meeting.
