PHILADELPHIA (September 12, 2022)—Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Hayan Lee, PhD, as an assistant professor in the Cancer Signaling and Epigenetics research program and the Cancer Epigenetics Institute (CEI).

PHILADELPHIA (September 2 2022)—In a recent study, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center demonstrated how cancer cells can survive in the body even when faced with a lack of sufficient nutrition, a finding that could be used as a potential indicator of disease status in the organs of pancreatic cancer patients.

PHILADELPHIA (August 31, 2022)—Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center co-authored a multi-institutional study that found that an RNA modification enzyme is critical for the survival of motor neurons. The scientists say the findings could help in the development of new treatments for neurological and other aging-related disorders, including cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (August 30, 2022)—Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have discovered that the drug efflux pump MDR1 promotes resistance to a promising new class of drugs called PROTACS—proteolysis-targeting chimeras.

PHILADELPHIA (August 29, 2022)—In a recently published supplement, the American Cancer Society’s National Navigation Roundtable, which is co-chaired by a Fox Chase Cancer Center researcher, provided an extensive update on the state of patient navigation and its role in oncology care.

PHILADELPHIA (August 17, 2022)—Brian Kozera lived his life according to a very simple, yet powerful mantra: Persevere, prevail.  A dear member of our Fox Chase Cancer Center community, Brian was a cancer survivor (or cancer thriver, as he would say), fundraiser, and friend who inspired us with his resolve, his passionate spirit, and his selfless dedication to others. It is with deep sadness that I share news of his unexpected passing on August 13 in a biking accident. Brian was 44.
