PHILADELPHIA (July 23, 2018) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Kristen Whitaker, MD, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Genetics. She will treat breast cancer patients and serve as a member of the clinical genetics team with a focus on breast cancer genetics and prevention.

PHILADELPHIA (July 18, 2018) – Robert Price, PhD, DABR, chief clinical physicist within the Department of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, will be honored as a fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) at the organization’s 60th annual meeting on October 23, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.

PHILADELPHIA (July 17, 2018) – Stephanie E. Weiss, MD, chief of the Division of Neurologic Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, will be honored as a fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) at the organization’s 60th annual meeting on October 23 in San Antonio, Texas.

Recently the Fox Chase Board of Associates (BOA) hosted its Annual Donation Meeting, where each chapter presented a check for the amount they’d raised this fiscal year and provided an overview of their work throughout the year. The total gift to the Center was $711,217.

Philadelphia (July 13, 2018) — Awarded annually by Sigma Xi, the scientific research honor society, this prize is given to a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to scientific research and has demonstrated an ability to communicate the significance of this research to scientists in other disciplines.  

PHILADELPHIA (July 11, 2018) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the publication of Molecular Determinants of Head and Neck Cancer, 2^nd Edition, edited by Erica Golemis, PhD, deputy chief science officer at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Barbara Burtness, MD, Disease Aligned Research Team Leader of the Head and Neck Cancers Program at Yale Cancer Center.

PHILADELPHIA (July 9, 2018) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrea M. Abbott, MD, as an assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. She will join the team that uses imaging technology to aid in cancer diagnosis, staging, and guidance of treatment.

PHILADELPHIA (July 5, 2018) – State Rep. Matt Bradford, D-Montgomery, will host Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Mobile Mammography Screening Unit at his Norristown office next month. The van will be located outside his office at 750 E. Johnson Highway starting at 10 am, Monday, Aug. 27, to offer breast cancer screenings.
