PHILADELPHIA (May 18, 2020)—Fox Chase was recognized for its use of the Monarch Platform, a technology that features a familiar controller-like interface that physicians use to navigate a flexible robotic endoscope to the periphery of the lung. The technology improves reach, vision, and control.

PHILADELPHIA (May 14, 2020) – May is Skin Cancer Prevention Month.  The two most common types of skin cancers, basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers, are usually very treatable and most commonly found in areas exposed to the sun.

PHILADELPHIA (May 11, 2020) — Combination strategies targeting the immune checkpoint pathway from multiple angles may be the key. A recent study suggested the benefit of two immune checkpoint drugs, which showed promising response in this rare cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (April 30, 2020)—In a study published today, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center were able to determine that the BRCA1 gene has two distinct and equally important functions in the process of DNA repair, a finding which sheds light on the response and resistance of cancers to certain chemotherapies. The findings have implications for cancer therapy because drugs known as PARP inhibitors successfully treat BRCA1-mutant breast and ovarian cancers

PHILADELPHIA (April 27, 2020) – Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center recently published a series of articles in Cancer Prevention Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research, honoring Paul F. Engstrom, MD, FACP, and his role as a pioneer in the field.
