PHILADELPHIA (January 8, 2019) — Using next-generation sequencing (NGS) based RNA-sequencing, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center identified two new members of MiT family translocation renal cell carcinoma, NEAT1-TFE3 and KAT6A-TFE3, further emphasizing the genetic complexity of this group of renal tumors.

PHILADELPHIA (January 8, 2019) — Fox Chase Cancer Center researchers are exploring the structural mechanisms that allows pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) to spread, and a new paper suggests that altering underlying substrates could harness the body’s ability to restrict the disease’s progress.

PHILADELPHIA (December 11, 2018) — Jonathan Chernoff, MD, PhD, chief scientific officer and Stanley P. Reimann Chair in Oncology Research at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received a grant from the Melanoma Research Foundation to support his research on RAC1 mutant melanoma. 

Dr. Denise Connolly has led the way in changing how ovarian cancer is understood. Her lab pioneered the first transgenic mouse model that develops spontaneous ovarian carcinomas, making it easier for scientists everywhere to study ovarian cancers. 

PHILADELPHIA (November 28, 2018) – Warren D. Kruger, PhD,  has received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to study whether proteasome inhibitors (Pls) and proteostasis modulators are effective in restoring function to treating cystathionine beta synthase (CBS) deficiency, also known as classical homocystinuria.
