Philadelphia (July 13, 2018) — Awarded annually by Sigma Xi, the scientific research honor society, this prize is given to a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to scientific research and has demonstrated an ability to communicate the significance of this research to scientists in other disciplines.  

PHILADELPHIA (July 11, 2018) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the publication of Molecular Determinants of Head and Neck Cancer, 2^nd Edition, edited by Erica Golemis, PhD, deputy chief science officer at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Barbara Burtness, MD, Disease Aligned Research Team Leader of the Head and Neck Cancers Program at Yale Cancer Center.

PHILADELPHIA (July 9, 2018) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrea M. Abbott, MD, as an assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. She will join the team that uses imaging technology to aid in cancer diagnosis, staging, and guidance of treatment.

PHILADELPHIA (July 5, 2018) – State Rep. Matt Bradford, D-Montgomery, will host Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Mobile Mammography Screening Unit at his Norristown office next month. The van will be located outside his office at 750 E. Johnson Highway starting at 10 am, Monday, Aug. 27, to offer breast cancer screenings.

PHILADELPHIA (July 2, 2018) – Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Pooja Ghatalia, MD, as an assistant professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology. Ghatalia will join the faculty after completing a three-year Fox Chase hematology/oncology fellowship.

PHILADELPHIA (June 26, 2018) – For the  fifth consecutive time, the Nursing Department at Fox Chase Cancer Center has successfully achieved its Magnet^®designation for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Fox Chase has held Magnet status continuously since 2000, when it became the first hospital in Pennsylvania to earn it. 

Located on the campus of Suburban Community Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center East Norriton – Hospital Outpatient Center offers patients access to Fox Chase’s specialized team of surgical oncologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, allowing individuals to be treated closer to home.

At Fox Chase Cancer Center, we have an incredible crew of oncology nurses — more than 530 strong. Oncology nurses care for patients through the most intimate and difficult moments of their lives, but they’re also right there to share in patients’ joys. We take pride in all of our nurses and are grateful for their commitment to this organization.
