PHILADELPHIA (May 17, 2024) — Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Fox Chase - Temple Urologic Institute are proud to welcome patients to the newly renovated and expanded clinical space located on the third floor of Fox Chase - Huntingdon Pike, which is located at 50 Huntingdon Pike in Rockledge, Pennsylvania. These renovations are aimed at significantly improving care for urology and urologic oncology patients both within the region and beyond.

Daniel M. Geynisman, MD, Chief of the Division of Genitourinary Medical Oncology and an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been appointed Editor-in-Chief for JNCCN—Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is a nonprofit alliance of leading cancer centers devoted to patient care, research, and education.

PHILADELPHIA (May 15, 2024) — Sameer Patel, MD, FACS, Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently named Vice President of the Robert H. Ivy Society of Plastic Surgeons.

PHILADELPHIA (May 13, 2024) — Mitchell Fane, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Research Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received a $255,000 grant from the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) to investigate the role of aging in immune-regulated reactivation from metastatic melanoma.

PHILADELPHIA (May 10, 2024) — Kara Stromberg, MS, RD, LDN, CDCES, Director of Clinical Nutrition and Nutrition Research at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Hospital –Jeanes Campus, was recently recognized by the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Keystone Award winner.

PHILADELPHIA (May 6, 2024) — In a study presented today at the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting 2024, researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Center showed that using numerical cutoffs as opposed to radiologist-read CT scans to determine whether a mass was likely cancerous did not yield more accurate results.

PHILADELPHIA (May 3, 2024) — In a study presented today at the American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting 2024, researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center showed that in men who have undergone surgery for prostate cancer, the function of artificial urinary sphincters for stress urinary incontinence was improved when radiation was used as an adjuvant therapy rather than as a salvage therapy.
