PHILADELPHIA (August 18, 2023) — A Fox Chase Cancer Center researcher has been awarded a $2.5 million grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) to investigate RNA structure and stability, work that has implications for cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other degenerative diseases and continues the Fox Chase legacy of basic research.

PHILADELPHIA (August 18, 2023) — Vanessa B. Wookey, MD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received a grant from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Oncology Research Program (ORP) to explore optimizing biomarker-directed therapy in metastatic colorectal cancer.

PHILADELPHIA (August 10, 2023) — Sanjeevani Arora, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has received a grant of $752,000 from the Department of Defense to study racial disparities in rectal cancer survival. This topic is of particular importance to the DOD because nearly one-third of active-duty service personnel are members of a racial/ethnic minority group that could be affected by such disparities.
