PHILADELPHIA, PA (March 11, 2013)—Fox Chase Cancer Center invites patients and their friends and families to attend a Lynch Syndrome Public Awareness Event on Thursday, March 21, at Fox Chase’s Campus (333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia). The evening will begin with appetizers at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor mezzanine of the Young Pavilion followed by the program at 7:00 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA (March 1, 2013) - Temple is celebrating the 25-year anniversary of the first bone marrow transplant performed as part of the Temple Bone Marrow Transplant Program. PHILADELPHIA, PA (February 27, 2013)—Two proteins that scientists once thought carried out the same functions are actually antagonists of each other, and keeping them in balance is key to preventing diseases such as cancer, according to new findings published in the February 25 issue of Developmental Cell by scientists at Fox Chase Cancer Center. The results suggest that new compounds could fight cancer by targeting the pathways responsible for maintaining the proper balance between the proteins.

Doylestown, PA (January 31, 2013)—The Bucks County Chapter of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Board of Associates—a group of volunteers who support patient care and cancer research at Fox Chase—will be hosting an elegant gala called “April in Vienna” on April 20, 2013 at Spring Mill Manor (171 Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, PA).

PHILADELPHIA (January 14, 2013)—Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Office of Health Communications and Health Disparities (OHCHD) recently received a grant from the National Breast Cancer Foundation to fund community-based patient navigation services. The one year grant will allow the OHCHD to expand its current navigation program for women who are screened for breast cancer on Fox Chase’s mobile mammography van and receive abnormal results. The vitally needed navigators will help those women obtain follow-up services at Fox Chase (or elsewhere if desired).
