PHILADELPHIA (June 11, 2024) — Lucia Borriello, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and a member of the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Research Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Metastasis Research Society (MRS).

PHILADELPHIA (June 10, 2024) — Temple University Hospital has received re-accreditation under the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program. The ACS CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards.

PHILADELPHIA (June 3, 2024) — Human epidermal growth factor 2 (HER2) mutations can be identified in up to 6% of non-small cell lung cancer cases where KRAS, EGFR, or ALK gene mutations are also found, according to the results of research from Temple University Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center presented today at the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting.

PHILADELPHIA (May 29, 2024) — Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center have documented the first case of rectal myxoid leiomyosarcoma (MLS), a rare cancer typically seen in the female reproductive system. The researchers also found a novel fusion gene that can be used to positively identify the cancer at the molecular level.
