PHILADELPHIA (July 20, 2023) — Martin Edelman, MD, Chair of the Department of Hematology/Oncology and Deputy Cancer Center Director for Clinical Research at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been appointed inaugural Chair of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University.

PHILADELPHIA (July 18, 2023) — The two leaders of Fox Chase Cancer Center’s Immersion Science Program (ISP) have been awarded the Viktor Hamburger Outstanding Educator Prize from the Society for Developmental Biology (SDB) at the organization’s 82nd Annual Meeting, which is being held this week in Chicago. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding and innovative contributions to teaching and learning in developmental biology and related areas.

PHILADELPHIA (July 7, 2023) — Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple Health were recently awarded a three year, $1.2 million grant to study sulforaphane, a promising cancer preventive agent derived from broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables, for the prevention of malignant mesothelioma.

PHILADELPHIA (June 28, 2023)—Lucia Borriello, PhD, an assistant professor in the Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and a member of the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment research program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has been awarded a three-year $450,000 research grant from Susan G. Komen. The grant supports early career scientists investigating the biology of breast cancer and paving the way to develop new treatments for the disease.
