Melanoma;  Skin Cancer

I trust my Fox Chase team with my life. If it were not for them, I don’t know what I would do. I also make sure to remind others that melanoma can be prevented—it just takes effort.

Melanoma;  Skin Cancer

In November 2011, Donna Piunt was driving along to work like any other 51-year-old, jamming to music in her car. She and her husband, Stefan, were happily married and they had two beautiful daughters in their twenties. Donna arrived to work with a smile on her face as she greeted the little boy she cared for a nanny. In her spare time, she was pursuing her Associate’s Degree in medical billing and coding, which she could work on while the little boy napped.

Roy Conners

Melanoma;  Skin Cancer

As a retired telephone engineer, Roy Conners’s hands are his livelihood. Semi-retired in 2014 at the age of 76, Roy is self-employed as an electronics technician assisting clients with a variety of small repairs. After raising a family in Northeast Philadelphia, he moved to Cape May Courthouse, NJ, in 2005 to enjoy a slower paced lifestyle and to be closer to the beach. For several years he had endured an unsightly growth under his right thumbnail. It grew in size and continued to change its appearance. “Basically it was a large, ugly growth,” Roy recalls.
